5 Quick Healthy Breakfast Ideas for The Week

What you eat for breakfast sets the tone for how you go about your entire day. Eating breakfast leads to positive effects like increased energy levels, focus, and easier resistance to less healthy foods. Today I’m going to give you 5 breakfast ideas to get you through your busy weekday mornings. These breakfast recipes are so healthy, delicious, and filling, and the best part? They are so quick to make. They are good for people who are just getting started with a healthier lifestyle and are very busy, resulting in them not having a lot of time to make breakfast. I hope you love these ideas as much as I do!

Breakfast #1: Yogurt /w fruits n' nuts

Ingredients

  • ¾ cup yogurt
  • Fruits of your choice
  • 1 tbsp. nuts
  • Pinch of cinnamon

Instructions

1. Add the yogurt and fruits to a bowl and top with nuts and a pinch of cinnamon

Tip: This recipe is packed with probiotics from the yogurt. Cinnamon helps regulate your blood sugar levels. Don’t skip the nuts they add a very good crunch.

Breakfast #2: Banana bread overnight oats

This breakfast is perfect for a grab-and-go breakfast. It also contains good whole carbs, fiber, healthy fats, and a bit of protein too to give increased and sustained energy!

Ingredients

  • ½ cup rolled oats
  • ½ cup milk
  • ½ tsp. vanilla extract
  • ½ tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 tbsp. yogurt (optional)
  • 1 medium mashed banana

Instructions

1. Mix all the ingredients in a jar or bowl and set aside for 2 hours or leave them in the fridge overnight

2. The next morning, grab a spoon, add your favorite toppings and dig in! My go-to toppings are 2 tbsp. yogurt with some nuts and fruit

Breakfast #3: Healthy chocolate milkshake

I feel like I wouldn’t be doing this recipe justice if I called it a smoothie because it tastes like a chocolate milkshake ... so I call this a healthy chocolate milkshake! I’ve had this recipe for breakfast and also as a dessert after dinner. If you love chocolate, you have to try this recipe!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup vanilla or plain yogurt. (If you’re using plain yogurt add 3 dates to sweeten)
  • 1 tbsp. nut butter
  • 1 tbsp. unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/8 to 1/4 cup water (depending on how thick you want it)
  • Ice cubes
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
  • Sprinkle of cinnamon (optional)

Instructions

1. Add all the ingredients to a blender aside from the ice

2. Once blended add the ice then blend again

3. Serve chilled and enjoy!

Tip: I add a tsp. of vanilla yogurt and make a little swirl to make it look good.

Breakfast #4: Peanut butter /w banana on toast + coffee

Ingredients

  • 1 cup of hot coffee (black or white, whichever you prefer)
  • 2 slices of toasted bread
  • 1 tbsp. peanut butter
  • Banana coins (sliced banana)
  • Pinch of cinnamon

Instructions

1. Spread the peanut butter on the toasted bread

2. Top with banana coins and a pinch of cinnamon and enjoy!

Tip: If you don’t have a toaster, you can simply toast your bread using a pan

Breakfast #5: Omelet /w toast + lemon tea

Ingredients

  • 1 cup water + tea bag + ½ lemon + (optional sweetener)
  • 2 slices of toasted bread
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tbsp. cooking oil
  • 1 tbsp. chopped onion
  • 1 tbsp. chopped green bell pepper
  • Pinch of salt & pepper

Instructions for lemon tea

1. In a small cooking pot heat a cup of water, lemon juice from half the lemon, and a sweetener if you’re using some

2. Once it’s boiled, add a teabag and serve

Instructions for the omelet

1. In a bowl whisk together the eggs, onion, green bell pepper, salt & pepper

2. In a nonstick skillet over medium-low heat, heat the cooking oil.

3. Add the eggs to the skillet and cook them to your liking without stirring

4. Serve and enjoy with the lemon tea and toasted bread!

Tip: Eggs are among the most nutritious foods on the planet, containing a little bit of almost every nutrient you need.
